Re: Welcome Peer Guides!

Hey there @Zoe7 🙂

The resilience it takes to move through such hardship is almost indescribable; I read that resilience, as well as some comfort and reward from lived experience becoming a resource for help, in your post ❤️‍🩹🙂

There are aspects I can relate to, and the beauty is knowing there’s no fear, shame, or devaluation in being open about what hurts, and how that can become a resource with time and support, here amongst fellow peers and advocates 🤝🏻🙂

I would be super pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to the Hub focus groups at some stage in the future - R&D of any sort is very much a big interest area of mine☺️

I’d also like to learn more about the Guided Service later on if the opportunity arises; service delivery is another area of significant interest (I have an education and allied health background), and contributing to making things work better to support better outcomes is incredibly meaningful, as well as rewarding 🙌🏻🙂

Really appreciate chatting with you ☺️🌺

Thank you tyme/all those who have responded!

Very exciting indeed.

I am keen to meet many of the beautiful and wonderful people on these forums in the new capacity. I hope I can listen, learn, and help where possible :))

Re: Welcome Peer Guides!

Hey everyone 👋

Thanks so much for the very warm welcome! I'm feeling very nervous, excited, elated and all the emotions about transitioning into this next part of role.

Really looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning more about the SANE forums and community, learning more about myself and hopefully helping others along the way. I'm loving what I see so far! You should all be so proud of the space you hold for people and the community you've built, it's just amazing! I feel lucky to be able to be a part of it 😊

@Xibon , @MermaidHair a little tip is to put a @ in front of members name so they get your message

For Myself

I have had the privilege of being a CG here on the forums for several years now, since 2015

My areas of interest are the "Topic Tuesday" discussions.

and the weekly "Peer chat groups " on every Thursday nights

The other area I am particularly interested in is being more involved in the Carers side of the forum but understanding that the carers and the lived experience side most of the time they are interwoven.

I also like doing social threads and the birthday threads

Outside of Sane

I have been self employed all my life as a childcare provider, cleaner

My husband has MI and I have 4 stepchildren who are all adults now with their own MI issues

and have now 2 grandchildren

was carer for my elderly mum who is now in aged care hospital

now cutting back on work due to physical issues , kidney disease stage 4 with only one kidney and other complications

Re: Welcome Peer Guides!

welcome to all our new Peer Guides 🙂
