Re: Self care by growing a garden

Hi @Former-Member No sorry, I'm not planning on growing any summer veg.

I largely failed at vegie-growing school (except with Beans & Asparagas).

I'm sticking with what I'm good at - shrubs, trees & groundcovers.

If it has lots of flowers, then that's definitely a bonus.

My Naturtiums did so well, that they covered the entire backyard - I don't think they count as a vegetable, although they are used in salads (eaten).

Here is one of my Christmas holiday projects.

I want to clean this pond out and re-seal it.

Maybe a bridge over the top and put some fish in it 😁

Re: Self care by growing a garden

This part of the garden is all full of cobbler pegs that I am slowly trying to dig out.

1/2 hour  each afternoon so slowly getting there. I would usually spray then burn it but it is all wood chip under so that wont work here.

Re: Self care by growing a garden

I need @Shaz51 and mr Shaz to come.down and work their magic lol

Re: Self care by growing a garden

Love to be there tomorrow @Determined

I need to replant my succulents as they are getting to big for the little pots @Former-Member, @Adge, @eudemonism, @Former-Member

Re: Self care by growing a garden

Sounds like a good idea @Shaz51

My Ogre Ears succulant (once tiny) - soon got way too big for its pot, & top-heavy.

It's been in a large pot for several years.

It's almost 1 metre high, half a metre wide, & weighs 30 Kg or so (too heavy to lift).

No spines, thank goodness...

@Adge

Sticking with what works often the best option 😀

@Determined I think you might need to join the queue for Shazzle Dazzle's services ... she already has a waiting list for forum members house cleaning (53 at last count), although Mr @Shaz51 might be amenable to tackling your cobbler pegs and cleaning the pond.  (Was it just me or did I detect an eye roll at the mention of fish 😀).

Re: Self care by growing a garden

You may well have detected my darlings eyes rolling at the mention of fish @Former-Member lol.

Unfortunately there is a bit of work to get through before I tackle the fish pond but I am hoping  to get something sorted over the Christmas holidays.  All of our gardens are in need of some TLC so need to get that in order first.

Re: Self care by growing a garden

Yes, thanks @Former-Member

The Honeyeaters absolutely love my Grevilleas, Bottlebrush, & Hibiscus.

I have about 10 large bushes (3m high).

One large successful Banksia (4m high), which the Wattlebirds love.

Had not heard of ogre ears before @Adge had to look it up - pictures below.
