@Former-Member
Have just been looking at something like this for myself and have decided battery operated is the best option. (For us anyway).
Bunnings have a wide variety ranging from budget to commercial quality.

I am currently using a 40+ year old electric b&d that was my dads.

We have a corded drill @Determined as we didn't use a cordless one enough to keep the battery going which is why I thought a petrol one might be better.

I did wonder about that @Former-Member as I have the same problem with my drill but figured the hedge trimmer would get more use.
Hopefully anyway. And you can now get tools that use the same battery for everything ensuring adequate use. I am also looking at a blower vac for cleaning gutters.

That and we have a front hedge that will require regular attention.

Wondering if we should just get in a gardener who we know owns the equipment for the job @Determined. We don't really have any other jobs for him to do as Mr D is keeping up with things relatively well.
