Self care by growing a garden

Re: Self care by growing a garden

They should recover @Determined. Cycads are dinosaur food plants, and if they can survive that much species extinction, they can survive a hailstorrm. The usual wisdom is to leave damaged leaves to protect the new growth, and remove them once the new stuff's hardened off.

Re: Self care by growing a garden

*Correction.... Seems it's been discovered that modern cycads aren't quite a dino lunch snack after all, but they're still pretty impressive plants.

and our customer gets us to do her`s

Re: Self care by growing a garden

I have seen some in pics that are trimmed so they have a trunk @Shaz51 but ours have fronds fro. Ground level. Well they used to. The lower ones are all dead at the moment.

Re: Self care by growing a garden

Taking off the lower down dead ones wouldn't hurt it.

Re: Self care by growing a garden

Have been looking at the best location to install a rain water tank (we brought one with us from our previous home). Where we have decided to put it will require transplanting a palm tree 😬 hope I can manage that without it dieing.

Re: Self care by growing a garden

On a roll this morning. Another load of green waste to the dump. Pressure pump to the irrigation shop and 2 leaky taps fixed 😊

Hope to have another trailer loaded with green waste by this ave.
