I recently found and read some journaling from a challenging period of time for our family (I was looking for something else). While things are still far from Ideal and it seems there are always dark clouds on the horizon I wanted to encourage everyone, don't ever give up. Get support. Talk about challenges with someone who cares or suitably qualified and soldier on. And I say that in light of how far our family has come, not to diminish what anyone may be facing at any point in time but as an encouragement. I am so grateful that with a ton of support I didn't give up.

Hi @Determined
It’s so lovely to hear from you
I find it incredibly distressing when people make assumptions and pass judgment about others and I’m just so sorry to hear that throughout your life people have interpreted your quietness as ‘snobbery’
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been an extremely quiet person. Initially, I felt really comfortable with this part of myself, however as I became older, this part of my personality often attracted criticism and people offered suggestions in terms of how I ‘could’ and ‘should’ change this part of myself.
I found people’s criticisms (in conjunction with the underlying messages that accompanied these) really distressing and this resulted in me feeling misunderstood as a person, ‘wrong’ and ‘less than’ when I found myself in certain situations and / or in the company of particular people.
Even though primary school was an incredibly long time ago for me too it’s amazing how some of our experiences with our peers and our teachers can continue to have a profound impact on us - even when we enter adulthood
Although I wasn’t familiar with this particular proverb (I had to research it on the internet ) it definitely captures some of my experiences - especially in relation to my professional life and I just wondered if this was something that you could relate to as well?
Thank you again for sharing this part of your life with me
Take care of yourself,
ShiningStar

Yes definatly @ShiningStar
And combined with the Lincoln quote. I have found that to be very true especially in my professional career post school.
